Important hiring rules

It doesn’t matter who you are: a manager, a salesman or an accountant, you automatically adapt to the situation and get used to the local communication culture. We become hostages to certain unspoken corporate charters, we get used to the standards of interaction adopted there, which may not be clear in other conditions. And being in a new environment, for example, at an interview in another company, we inertia behave in the usual way, forgetting about generally accepted standards of behavior.

Work.ua highlighted the main mistakes that candidates often make when communicating with the employer:

The candidate seeks to answer the interviewer's questions as quickly as possible. Often without listening to or even interrupting the interlocutor. Perhaps the specifics of his previous work obliged him to do so, but the interviewer will conclude that the candidate is not used to thinking before speaking and acting.
Answering questions, the candidate goes to extremes - he speaks too much or too little. Although everything is very simple - you should give the interviewer exactly as much information as he needs. If you have something to add, check with your interlocutor whether it is worth disclosing this question in more detail.
The candidate does not listen to the interviewer's questions, does not try to fully understand them. Often forgets about the principles of an active listener: does not nod, avoids eye contact, does not specify whether he understood the question correctly. As a result, the interviewer does not fully receive what he expected, because the candidate is not fully disclosed.

Try to put together basic information and arguments in a couple of sentences. Watch the situation so as not to miss the moment when they will listen to you already out of politeness, or vice versa perplexed by understatement. When employing, the greatest value for the employer is the candidate, who can focus on the goal, think systematically, can listen and understand the interlocutor.

A few simple rules to keep in mind:

If you are not sure of the correctness of your answer, do not hesitate to clarify this with the interviewer.
Do not use slang, try to avoid complex professional terms.
Find out and follow your parasitic words.
Do not argue, interrupt or raise the tone.
Try to be a comfortable conversationalist, adhere to a positive attitude during the conversation.
Remember to thank the interviewer for your time.

Following these fairly simple rules you will significantly increase the likelihood of being perceived correctly, which is very important in the process of employment and staff selection.
